Vision and Mission

Vision

BVHA envisages “health and wellbeing” a reality for rural and urban poor of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Mission

Augmentation of preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative health care services for strengthening physical, emotional, mental and social wellbeing of urban and rural poor by empowering communities, CSOs and charitable Health care service providers

Identity

BVHA will remain a registered society and would like to be a health promotion organization and collective of grassroot level CSOs and charitable healthcare service providers engaged in health and wellbeing of poor. It will continue to work on issues related to health and wellbeing that directly has an effect on the growth and development of people

Role

BVHA opted for following three-fold role to be played in next five years:

Implementation: BVHA works to identify relevant health issues and accordingly design and implement projects for the marginalized communities by involving them from the designing stage. BVHA implements projects directly or some-time in partnership/collaboration with its network member organizations as per the donor’s requirement.

Capacity building: BVHA explores and build its institutional capacity time to time by using its core competencies and convert it into opportunity and has emerged as a capacity building institution in the state. Organization has tied up with CSOs and charitable Health care service providers and build their capacity on relevant issues. On the other hand, it also strengthens its member organizations on organizational development processes.

Enabling Environment: It is one of the important intervention area of BVHA for promotion of effective implementation of health services for poor and marginalized by engaging various stakeholders including Government officials, Elected representatives etc. Organization will also try to create space to be a part of various government committees for sharing best practices as well as helping in developing people centric services based on the present need of the community.

BVHA is an association of 167 Civil Society Organisations, charitable hospitals and health centres and more than 300 associated non-member organizations covering all the districts of Bihar and eight districts in Jharkhand States.
